The architectural advice is about using space well when services change, including cost improvement programmes and longer commissioning plans.

Part of the work helps GP practices tailor space for their registered populations and for extended services such as local or directed enhanced services, GPs with a special interest, or diagnostics.

Hospital redesign looks at patient drive-times, flows and distances between wards, capacity and demand. Designs can include disability access, moving beds and equipment, storage for equipment and devices, and internal infrastructure such as data networks and clinical supplies.
